ENERGEX Race Around Ekka School Film Competition

Lights, camera, ACTION!

In 2011 48 school teams raced around the clock to plan, shoot, script and edit a 60-second TV ad for Ekka. The winning ads were shown on the big screen in the Main Arena on the final night of Ekka, on the Ekka website, Facebook and YouTube.

The winning teams received cash prizes, and the first-placed teams won a workshop session with the Channel Nine television commercial production department.

The Energex Race Around Ekka, School Film Competition is open to all secondary students. Teams can have up to six members, and there are two divisions: junior (years 8-10) and senior (years 11-12).

The judges have just made their decision and listed below are the results:

Senior Team

• First Place & Winners of the Viewer's Choice Award - Coombabah State High School - Team Pirates 1 (year 12)
• 2^nd - Sheldon College - ASTA SCTV#1 (Year 12)
• 3^rd - Indooroopilly State High School - Indooroopilly 2 (Year 11)

Junior Team

• First Place - Churchie - The Vikings (year 10)
• 2^nd - Marymount College - Marymount 4 (year 10)
• 3^rd - Sheldon College - Between the Lines (Year 10)
• Highly Commended - Marsden State High School - Marsden 2 (Year 10)
